
Paola Marie Alvarez de Bennett was born in Mexico City, D.F., to her U.S. citizen mother and her Mexican citizen father. At a young age, her family came to the United States where she grew up in Gallup, NM and Tulsa, OK. Paola-Marie's father later became a U.S. citizen.
Due to her background, Paola Marie enjoys working with individuals who want to come to the United States and follow similar steps as her father did to obtain immigration benefits such as legal permanent residency and citizenship. She also works with individuals who need assistance with
adoption,
non-profit organizations,
real estate contracts, loan modification,
foreclosure,
family law,
business contracts,
bankruptcy, civil litigation, and
personal injury.
Paola Marie went to law school to help people and make a difference in her community. As a law student, Paola Marie dedicated herself to several advocacy programs and earned a number of awards for her work. For two years, she served as the Student Coordinator for the Students for Access to Justice Program where she helped match law students with judges, non-profit organizations, pro bono opportunities, and a wide variety of government agencies. She then interned with the Cleveland County District Attorney’s office for one school year where she tried misdemeanor cases and negotiated plea agreements.
Also, during law school, she spent two internships outside of Oklahoma by living in Toledo, Ohio for one summer and Washington D.C. for six months. In Toledo, she clerked with Advocates for Basic Legal Equality and assisted on an immigration law project. While in Washington, D.C., she worked with Corporation for Enterprise Development where she helped write policy pieces affecting small business owners in rural, native and urban communities.
During her last year of law school, Paola Marie worked as a legal intern for Edmonds Cole Law Firm and joined the firm as an Associate upon passing the Oklahoma Bar to help develop an immigration law practice and handle civil litigation files. She then entered the private sector and started Alvarez de Bennett Law, P.C.
Due to her wide range of legal experience, Paola Marie has built relationships with prominent attorneys and associations in Oklahoma and across the United States. As an attorney, she has been successful in saving a client’s house from foreclosure, enforcing an agreement between two contractors, settling a case for a client’s damages to personal property, assisting clients obtain permanent residency in the United States, and more. She remains dedicated to her clients’ needs and is always accessible via phone or
email. She also remains active in the community and volunteers her time in both a professional and personal capacity.
Paola Marie lives with her husband in Oklahoma City and their two loveable dogs.
